Transcriptional Co-repressor Function of the Hippo Pathway Transducers YAP and TAZ
-Yap과 TAZ(YAP/TAZ)는 강력한 oncogene 으로서 전사활성자 (transcriptional co-activator)로 작용한다고 알려져 왔다.
- 본 연구에서는 YAP/TAZ가 전사 억제자 (transcriptional co-repressor)로 작용할 가능성에 대하여 연구하였다.
- 그 결과 YAP/TAZ가 TEAD transcriptional factor 와 함께 NuRD complex를 recruit 함으로써 DDIT4, Trail 등의 tumor-suppressor-gene의 발현을 억제함을 규명하였다. 이는 YAP/TAZ의 기능을 이해하는데 있어 새로운 관점을 제시하는 중요한 결과로 여겨진다.
