Multiple Postdoctoral Fellow Positions in Regeneration Genomics
Diao Laboratory | Department of Cell Biology | Duke University
About the Diao Lab
Dr. Yarui Diao is a tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Cell Biology at Duke University. The Diao lab is recruiting multiple postdoctoral fellows to join our research program in Regeneration Genomics. Our laboratory develops and applies cutting-edge genomics, epigenomics, proteomics, single-cell multi-omics, and functional genomics technologies to understand how gene regulation and chromatin organization control cell fate, tissue regeneration, aging, and disease.
Our recent work has been published in Nature Biotechnology 2026, Nature Cell Biology 2025, Nature Genetics 2023, Molecular Cell 2022, Journal of Cell Biology 2023, and Genome Medicine 2023. Since 2020, our lab has been continuously supported by multiple NIH awards (R01, U01, RF1, R35, R33, R21) and Department of Defense funding.
Our laboratory is committed not only to making exciting scientific discoveries but also to training the next generation of scientists for successful careers in both academia and industry. Our trainees have published in leading journals, received prestigious fellowships and awards, and gone on to postdoctoral, tenure-track faculty, and research positions at top universities, biotechnology companies, and the pharmaceutical industry.
Research Opportunities
1. Regenerative Immunotherapy & CAR-T–Mediated Tissue Repair
Develop next-generation CAR-T and cell/gene therapies for muscular dystrophy, fibrosis, ischemic injury, aging, and other degenerative diseases.
2. Transposable Elements in Aging & Degenerative Disease
Investigate how transposable elements regulate chromatin organization, inflammation, aging, tissue regeneration, and degenerative disease using genomics and proteomics.
3. Single-Cell Multi-omics, 3D Genome & Epigenomics
Develop and apply single-cell multi-omics, 3D genome technologies, and functional genomics to study gene regulation in development, regeneration, and disease.
Qualifications and Application
Applicants should hold a Ph.D., M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent degree in genomics, genetics, molecular biology, cell biology, immunology, bioengineering, computational biology, bioinformatics, or related fields. We welcome highly motivated scientists with strong research potential and a collaborative spirit.
