우리 연구실은 헬스케어를 비롯한 생의학 분야에 나노기술과 생체분자공학 전략을 적용하는 연구를 수행하고 있습니다. 특히 나노공학 기반 기술과 약물전달 시스템을 활용하여 CRISPR/Cas 유전체 편집 도구, 안티센스 올리고뉴클레오타이드, 메신저 RNA 등을 효과적으로 전달하는 첨단 유전자 치료제를 개발하고 있으며, 이를 암과 감염질환을 포함한 다양한 인간 질환의 치료에 적용하고자 합니다. 또한 나노·마이크로 입자 시스템을 기반으로 한 새로운 센싱 기술을 개발하여, 질병을 신속하게 진단할 수 있는 차세대 진단 플랫폼 연구도 함께 진행하고 있습니다.

The research of our laboratory focuses on the application of nanotechnology and biomolecular engineering strategies for biomedical purposes, especially in healthcare. We have been currently developing advanced gene therapeutics based on nanoengineering and delivery of the CRISPR/Cas genome editing machinery, antisense oligonucleotides, and messenger RNA, for treatment of various human diseases such as cancer and infections. We have also been performing research on the development of novel sensing technologies based on nano- and micro-particulate systems for rapid disease diagnostics.
